Temple PDay!

Elder Chriss, Engebretson, and Williams at the Buenos Aires Temple

Well as the title says TEMPLE PDAY! Wow I love the Buenos Aires Temple. It is such a beautiful temple, and the spirit is so strong in there. Every 3 months or so we get the great opportunity to go to the temple and well it's been about three months so it was about time to head on down. But me being up here in the northern zone, we had to leave early to make it to our session. We left our area around 4 in the morning. All I can say is that it was worth it. We got to be in the session with President!

Also while I was there I got to see Elders Engebretsen and Williams so that is a super bonus. Plus several other friends that I haven´t seen in a while. This was a perfect day to top off a great week! Lets just say we are tearing it up. I´m so happy right now.
We are really putting our faith in the Lord and just getting to work, We have been having great success with our members and referral.

Big news is that we are going to have a baptism this week!!! Her name is Adriana, she was a referral from a great member in our ward, and she has a great story. Now she has had a really hard life, always believed in God and has been looking for the truth. The other week she felt that she needed to walk to help her clear her head. When she got to a plaza she felt that she needed to go around the plaza seven times. On her final turn she ran into her good friend (our member). She shared her testimony and set up a time for her to visit with us. She loves the BoM and she is coming along greatly.

This is the last week of the transfer and i´m really hoping to stay here in this area. I am truly loving this place and the people here.
This is all for me this week I hope you all do well and give the missionaries a referral haha.

Love,
Elder Taylor Chriss

Hard Work Gets the Job Done!

Elder Gabriaguez, Elder Castelli, Elder Chriss.  Congratulations Lauti!
We are getting things done here in Campana2!! This week was a fantastic week. My companion and I are  doing great things here. We are helping the ward grow and strengthen and we are finding great people to teach. We had 4 investigators in the church this week. It is the greatest feeling when you work hard and people come to the church.

We are seeing great progress in the members in our ward, they are giving more referrals and are helping us our a ton. They are stepping up to their part in the work of Salvation.

Super cool, this week a youth in our ward received his mission call to Brazil Rio de Janiero. He is the first missionary in our ward for the past 2 years, so we are helping him get prepared as much has we can. It funny to see him as he prepares and remembering doing the same things. I´m so glad for him and he will be a great missionary.

Now I know that life can be hard, and I have seen plenty of people with hardships on my mission. But one thing i love to do is to help people to see the wonderful blessing that The Atonement brings, to show them what our Savior did for them. I love helping these people just like my purpose as a missionary states to "Invite other to come unto Christ". I know that all of this time that I´m here is worth it. I love you all and I hope you have a good week!

Love YOU ALL SO MUCH

Week of Meetings and Mom!!!!!!!!!

A little different than his last area!
I love my Mission... I think I have said that a few times!!!

We as a mission had the wonderful opportunity to listen to several servants of the Lord this week. First in our Stake we listened to an Area Seventy named Elder Avila speak to us about the missionary work together with the members in our Stake conference. He helped us as a Stake gain a better vision of the work of salvation together. There is a lot of work to be done here in our stake. And we will get it done.

Second we had the Blessing to have a devotional by Elder Gonzalez of the Presidency of the Seventy. He got up and asked us what we would like to know... It was super cool to have a Q&A session with a Seventy. We talked about the work of the Lord and the ways that we need to work here in our mission. Our new motto is "Baptize, Retain and Reactive". These things at the same time!!! It is super cool the things that we are learning so that we can be more effective as missionaries.

And of course the best part of my week/month was talking to my mother yesterday. We went over to a members house and Used Skype and I got to talk to my family... that's about it. It was such the boost that I needed. I´m just stoked right now.

I´m kind of in a hurry so I will have to leave you now.  I love you all so much and I hope you have a good week. Stay strong and know that Elder Chriss is praying for you!

Feliz Día de la Madre!

Watch this video with a box of tissues!

Today was a GOOD day!  We got to speak with Elder Chriss!  I love being able to Skype with our sweet Elder!  I miss those dimples!!!  Oh how wonderful modern technology is.

He was so happy and so upbeat!  He was Skyping from a wonderful member's home.  We even got to speak with them as well as his companion, Elder Gabriaguez.  Their son will be opening his mission call on Wednesday.  They were so sweet.  It is wonderful to be able to speak to some of the people that are taking such good care of our missionary!

He and his companion were so excited about being able to Skype, they went out and purchased a camera for the computer.  None of the members had one and they were both bound and determined to be able to see their families.

He loves his new area.  He just doesn't like his new form of transportation.  The rusty old bikes just aren't cutting it!

We talked for quite a long time.  It was funny because once in a while he had a hard time remembering certain words in English.  About half way through we were able to add Michael and Lindsay into the conversation.  I can't tell you how wonderful it was to have all of us together laughing!  It's the best Mother's Day present a mom could ask for!

He promised me that the next 9 months would go incredibly fast!  I am hoping that his is true.

It is going to be a long 7 months before I get to Skype with him again.  Christmas is a long way away!  But hey, after that it will be just over a month until he is home!  Time is such a tricky beast. One minute you think it has stood still and the next minute is speeding by.

We are so very proud of Elder Chriss and his love for the people of Buenos Aires!  He is definitely not the boy he was when he left 15 months ago.  He is a confident, strong, young man.  He loves his Savior and his Heavenly Father!

Thank you for everyone's support of Elder Chriss.  He feels your love and prayers and can't wait to see you all again!  He reminded everyone to keep those cards and letters coming.

~Lisa

Kickin It in Campana!

I love my Mission!!! Really it is the best thing in the whole world. I am loving my time here in Campana 2. We are kickin butt up here in the middle of nowhere. The ward is coming along well, we have a ton of less active families and it is my job to help reactivate and Baptize those who our less actives know. Here in this area what we are doing and focusing on is helping our less actives and as they get reactivated we are inviting there non member friends and family to come with us to the Church. So far we are doing really well and are finding people each day.

For the week me and my comp have become bike experts... well bike repairing experts haha. Our bikes have broken like 5 times in the week. One day while tracking down LAs my comp´s handlebars snapped off..... Yeah that right snaped off. Then in the middle of the road 15min from any where POP goes my comps tire.... and my chain stays on my bike like wet soap... Not even to mention that if I cut myself on any metal part of my bike I will have tetanus... Let's just say I have no problem fixing bikes. haha

So the night before transfers, President called me, one to wish me a Happy Birthday and second to talk to me about the needs of this ward and what he wants me to do to help. But also he told me that I will no be a District Leader for the transfer, that he wants me to focus on helping the ward out. Also, that there are already 3 DLs here in the zone. So I was getting comfortable as a good old Senior comp.... Well this last Tuesday night, my Zone leader called and told me "Elder Chriss I need you to keep up the hard work and that I need to be an example for my District.... Oh and your a District leader again." He told me that President asked what they needed in the Zone to help the growth and my Zone leader said, "We need Elder Chriss as a District leader!" So adios my break and I´m back to Nightly Verifications haha!

This week we have Stake Conference and a great Meeting with Elder Gonzalez of the Seventy. We are super excited for these upcoming weeks. This is just the beginning of great things to come to pass.

I love my Heavenly Father and his great work, I´m grateful to his son, my Savior for the help I receive from him every day. I love this Mission!

I love you ALL!
